Ingredients
- 1 bottle of 40 Knots Carambolage
- 1 Orange, quartered
- 5 Whole cloves
- 2 Star anise
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
- 2 cups Cranberry juice, or juice of your choice
Directions
Combine the Carambolage and cranberry juice (Cran-Pomegranate works really well!) into a double boiler on the stove. Slice the orange into quarters, give them a good squeeze into the wine and juice mixture and then add to the pot.
In a square piece of cheesecloth (I personally like to use a teabag for loose tea), add the cloves and star anise and add to the pot. Throw in the cinnamon stick, mix all ingredients and heat thoroughly, stirring occasionally. Once thoroughly warmed, adjust for taste and add more of the cranberry juice if needed.
For ease of serving, transfer to a slow cooker on low and ladle into glasses and garnish with a fresh orange slice and cinnamon stick. Or pack in a thermos to take on a winter walk in Seal Bay Park, or for a ski up Mount Washington!
