Safe Haven Glazed Walnuts

Not too sweet, not too salty, not too filling, this classic candy roasted walnut will satisfy the masses.

So easy to make, and so delicious. Serve with Safe Haven Fortified, on a charcuterie or cheese board, or as a dessert or as an appetiser. Add these walnuts to a salad, and you have a delicious winner every time.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb Half walnut pieces
  • 1 Egg white
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsps 40 Knots Safe Haven Fortified Wine

Directions

Preheat your oven to 350°.

Select a cookie sheet with sides.  For prepping, use parchment paper or a silicone mat.

Beat the egg white until it appears foam-like, and before it begins to change to a white colour and peak.  Stir in Safe Haven and nuts.

Place half of the walnuts in a large mixing bowl.  Pour over the Safe Haven egg mixture, and stir until all nuts are well coated.

Transfer to a cookie sheet and spread evenly so that no nuts are covering others.

Bake 20-30 minutes.  Stir at mid-time.  In the last 10 minutes, watch very carefully so as not to burn the tender walnuts.

When you take walnuts out of the oven, stir until they are cooled and no longer sticky.

Transfer to a bowl and enjoy with a glass of 40 Knots Safe Haven!
